Rise of the Tomb Raider: Increased Content & utilizing the Xbox One

In recent interview at E3, a Crystal Dynamics developer claims that that Rise Of the Tomb Raider will have “three times” more content than the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot had. This doesn’t mean the story will be three time longer but things like sub quests and other content around in the games open-world will give you three times the more content that the previous game had. Everything that you will see in Rise of the Tomb Raider has been developed from the ground up which will help push the Xbox One to its limits.

“We were working during a generational shift where we were able to learn about the power of next generation consoles when we made the definitive edition of Tomb Raider but we really wanted to make Rise of the Tomb Raider from the ground up. Everything has been rewritten, the lighting engine has been rewritten, and the animation engine for Lara’s facial expression has been completely redone. All of our material processing, lighting engine and everything has been overhauled to utilize the full power of the Xbox One”

As the developers are working closely with Microsoft they didn’t face any issues with the Xbox One such as the ESRAM issues that other  developers claimed to be running into.

“We have a fantastic relationship with Microsoft. We got work directly with them and were able to understand how to get most out of the system and it has been a flawless experience so far.”

The game will be running 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second for the Xbox One version.

Tomb Raider (reboot) was an amazing game and surely Rise of the Tomb Raider will be too. The games content and story was spot on, every scene had something new, and every sub-quest was exciting. Rise of the Tomb Raider is developed by Crystal Dynamics, and published by Microsoft Studios which is a timed exclusive for Xbox one.
